Mother's Day gifts

I'm wondering if there are gifts you do not want for Mother's Day. I ask because this yahoo article states husbands should never buy an appliance as a gift for Mother's Day. Would you be disappointed if you received an appliance for Mother's Day?

My dear husband asked what I wanted for Mother's Day. I knew exactly what I wanted, a severe weather radio. We have been under several tornado watches and warnings in the last month. We did not experience tornadoes in our previous location so we never had the need to own a weather radio. I know it's not a very romantic gift but I really want something that could be used by the entire family.

Everyone is different. In your opinion, what would be the best and worst Mother's Day gift? I won't be offended if you write a weather radio would be the worst gift ever!

If I were you, I think I'd want the radio... You have had a lot of severe weather in your neck of the woods, and if you get the radio, it will most likely stop! Hope the bad weather doesn't move to the south of you!

Happy Mother's Day! Love, Susan

The worst mother's day gift for me would be one of those big, pink shirts with something
like "World's Best Mom" on it. Don't get me wrong, if my kids got me one I would wear it with pride but....

I'm not officially a mother yet, but I'll go ahead and give an answer...
The best M-day gift to me, would be being able to hold our baby boy. :)

Best gift...Something homemade, but Deacon is too young for that yet, so next best is shopping ALONE! :) The worst would be just nothing at all. No card, no well wish...nothing.
But...I think I got my BEST gift a little early and that was a picture of our boy! :)

Don't ask me about appliances! I LOVE practical gifts. Your weather radio sounds like a gift I would love. One year Kevin got me a spot carpet shampooer for Valentine's Day and I actually think it is my favorite Valentine's Day gift to date (probably one of my all-time favorite gifts even)! (We usually don't do much for Valentine's Day...so it was a special treat in that way, also).

I agree with KP - the worst would be nothing. Or, something too extravagant (big gifts make me really uncomfortable...unless it's from my parents, which is slightly more bearable as big gifts go).

:) Happy Mother's Day!
